Karen (St John) Beeson / 4049 32nd Ave SW / Seattle, WA  98126 k.beeson@comcast.net
50th Reunion Commentary: Since leaving the hallowed halls of Highline in 1956, I have been married more than once, had five children and six wonderful grandchildren. Who woulda thunk it? I retired as an administrative secretary in 2001 to enjoy life and travel with my domestic partner, had a double lung transplant in 2005, and every day is a happy surprise.

The last ten years I have, and still am, managing KVMD Television station in Los Angeles. Sally and I have lived in San Bernardino , Ca. since 1980. Like Sally said, “This journey of life has been one wonderful experience, and WE HAVE HAD a real “E RIDE”.

JUDY SNOWBERGER - Girls' Club Cabinet, "High Lines'" Staff, Attendance Office, Panorama, Pep Club, "Pirates' Log" Staff, Publicity Club, Stage Crew, Torch, "All-Pirates' Revue," Yell and Song Club,Camp Waskowitz Counselor, Prom Committee. Superlative is the degree which tempers her every work.
50 th Reunion Commentary: After Highline,WSU for a year. In 1959 I married Bill Raume. 6 yearsas a draftsman at Boeing.  In '63 and '66 we had two sons.  In '69, sold business in Maple Valley, moved to Canada.  Bought fishing and hunting camp at Nimpo Lake, B.C. It was a great life, living in a log home with wood stoves for cooking and heat.  There was no power, crank phones, cutting lake ice in the winter for summer guests, grizzly bears, moose and lots of fish.  In 1972 we moved even farther north to the scenic town of Smithers for 27 years, enjoying skiing, camping and horses.Worked for 5 years as a B.C. Land Survey draftsman.  We owned a gift/variety shop in Smithers & a grocery store in Telkwa.  After selling both businesses, I followed our younger son out into the "bush" and worked several seasons cooking in very remote mineral exploration camps in B.C., the Yukon, Nunavut and Alaska.  More awsome country to see and experience! In 1999 we traveled the length of Vancouver Island and discovered Ladysmith and decided to retire there.  Our home overlooks an active harbor where we always see lots of logging activity and pleasure and fishing boats. Our two sons are married and we have three wonderful grandsons.  We are still American Citizens.  The bald eagles that visit our beaches still "kick in" our Yankee Pride.  Guess you can say we wave both flags.  Love to see you here at Ladysmith (by land of by sea).

JUDY KIPPER (Butrim) - Panorama, Ticketeers, Torch, "All-Pirates' Revue," Yell and Song Club, CASH Club. She had both grace and dancing ease, delightful as the autumn leaves.
50th Reunion Commentary: I graduated U of W with a business BA 1962. There I met Pau Butrim, we married shortly after graduation. Worked for Safeco Ins. until motherhood demanded me. Have three children (2 boys and a girl) and 5 grandchildren from 15 to almost 8. For 27 years we owned and operated a Construction and Real Estate business where Paul was managing partner and I ran the office and did the accounting and payroll. Paul decided he didn't want to be in construction and we bought a mail order business selling metal detectors & mining equipment. (The person we bought the business from was a former principal at Boulevard Park Elementary – small world.) This was a whole new world of adventures and great people. Sold the mail order business and bought an RV park in Tri-Cities, which made it necessary to buy an RV which opened another new world.  Special interests are reading, gardening, swimming (in order to keep in shape I took up swimming laps and have swum almost 3,000 miles), and writing poetry. We enjoy golfing and RVing and being with family. Now retired, we are looking forward to spending more time traveling, doing things we enjoy, and building our vacation home at Desert Aire.

50th Reunion Commentary: It's hard to believe that 50 years have passed since we left the “hallowed halls.” Life has been good. I've been married to Cal Papritz ( Everett '57) for over 45 years, had four sons, and now enjoy the pleasures of seven grandchildren; six of whom live in Maple Valley . We resided in Montana , Colorado , New Orleans , and England for the first few years of our married life. An added bonus was summers in Grand Teton and Yosemite National Park where my husband was a seasonal park ranger. Once educated, we moved to Auburn Washington where we have lived for the past 38 years. Both of us had wonderful careers teaching at Green River Community College ; he in geography and I in court reporting. We're both retired now and enjoying phase three (or is it four) of our lives. My spare time is spent reading, hiking, x-country skiing, sailing, and traveling. I especially love photography. We've both been blessed with good health and look forward to many years doing those things we love most. It will be fun meeting up with everyone again this summer.

NOEL KANE - Knights of the Cutlass, Football, Pep Club. Every inch a man.

50th Reunion Commentary: Approximately fifty years ago Senior English teacher Birdie Davis said" Noel, I don't know what is to become of you". Looking back it hasn't been as bad as she might have thought. After bouncing around for several years I was hired as a United Air Lines Flight Officer ¬in 1963. During the 34 years of flying I flew 6 aircraft as co-pilot and 6 as Captain. Nearly all the aircraft I flew were Boeings with the last 10 years of my career split between Boeing 747 rope starts and Boeing's crown jewel the Boeing 747-400. While based in Chicago I met and married the American Airlines Stewardess next door, Berni. Berni, Scott, our son, and I journeyed west to the San Francisco where we have lived since 1966. Scott now lives in the Portland area. Since our 20th reunion we've spent many happy days with friends, and classmates, in the Burien area.
